How to prepare your items for the sale

ALL ITEMS HAVE TO COME IN ON HANGERS 
  • Make sure all clothing is clean, not faded, free of rips or tears, and presents well on the hanger (our reports indicate that consignors who took the time to make sure each item presented well sold 45% more than those that did not).
  • Hang clothing on hangers with hangers facing left like a question mark. (?) 
  • All bottoms must be hung by the waistband on a pant hanger. Please DO NOT use safety pins when hanging bottoms. SEE EXAMPLE BELOW.
  • Adult hangers must be used for all clothing (pants MUST come in on regular pant hangers as shown below).
There will be a small area during the check-in process that will be set up with a limited supply of hangers provided by the Upscale Consignment Sale. Please keep in mind that we are unable to accept any item that is wrinkled. Items must be ready to go out on the floor when you arrive. You will be required to use this station to hang all items being consigned that are not already on hangers. Please contact us if you are having trouble finding enough hangers for your items and we will do our best to assist you. Below are examples of pant hangers that are acceptable (YES) and unacceptable (NO).

Preparing Jewelry, Shoes & Accessories

JEWELRY
Pricing – Items will be priced at $15 or more. Items should have an original retail price of $45 or more.   
Transporting – Use tissue paper laid out flat to place necklaces on.  Lay necklaces down side by side on the tissue and then roll the paper up with the necklaces in them as if you were rolling up a newspaper. This keeps the jewelry separate and prevents them from getting tangled. You can also hang necklaces on a hanger.
Earrings – All earrings must be attached to heavy paper so they can be priced and displayed.
  • paper can be card stock (65 pounds or more), index cards, foam paper. REGULAR  PAPER CANNOT BE USED because the earrings will tear it apart.​
  • The paper should be about 1” by 2” in size so that we can attach a price tag
  • put two holes side by side to put pierced earring through the paper
  • If you believe the earrings will slip out of the paper, tape the backs of the earrings to the paper
SHOES & ACCESSORIES
  • Shoes have to be in "next-to-new" condition. No scuffs or wear inside OR out.
  • Shoes may be brought in boxes, but will not be displayed in them. Boxes will not be returned following the sale. 
  • Belts, scarves and hats will be displayed on tables or hung on hooks therefore they can be left free of hangers and transported to the sale in a box or bag.
